How To Remove Paint Stains From Carpets

Paining various things in your house increases the chance that your carpet will suffer from paint stains. There are all kinds of paints but in this article we’ll talk about acrylic and oil-based paint stains.

Of course all the experts at a cleaning agency in London advise that you take care of the problem immediately after you spill paint on the carpet, but sometimes you don’t have the time or you don’t notice it until it’s already dried.

First we’ll talk about fresh paint stains. If thee stain has already dried you can use the following methods. First try to scrape some of the chunks of paint with a dull knife or a spoon. Vacuum the loosened paint with a vacuum cleaner. Do not overdo it because you’ll may damage the fibers.

Take some rubbing alcohol (it’s best that it’s not coloured). Apply a small amount of the alcohol to a clean cloth. Work it into the stain gently rubbing in only one direction. Don’t allow the alcohol to sink too deep into the fabric because it can damage your carpet. Next make a solution from a cup of warm water and add few drops of dish washing detergent. This will remove any remaining stain that is loosened by the alcohol and of course the alcohol itself. Blot the stain with a clean white cloth, rinse the leftover detergent with plain water and dry it with a clean cloth.

This should be quite enough to get rid of the stubborn stain, but if it isn’t, call at a carpet cleaning agency in London and ask the experts for help.
